Classical Musician Flautist
Classical Musician Flautist
Lydia Nicole – Classical Musical Flautist.
Lydia is a graduate of the Royal Welsh conservatoire and has played with Orchestras and ensembles across the country.
Her years of regular performance within orchestras and ensembles stood her in great stead when she attended the Royal Welsh Conservatoire as the Covid pandemic decimated many ensemble opportunities and cooperative playing opportunities.
Lydia was very, very fortunate to have teachers who saw Lydia’s potential and gained her opportunities to play a series of sessions with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales. She has studied during her time at Royal Welsh with Sarah Newbold, Jonathan Burgess, Matthew Featherstone on flute and Andrew Lane – piccolo.
“I’m qualified to play, perform and teach as a classical musician flautist.”

My Story
My dream is to play in a professional orchestra
Lydia left home at 16 to pursue her passion for music and attended the Purcell School of music until she attained the required qualifications to attend Conservatoire.
The years at Purcell were punctuate by weekly Saturday school at the Royal College of Music where she played for the RCM Symphony orchestra and Stoneleigh youth orchestra.
Whilst at the Welsh conservatoire she took to playing in the occasional military band where piccolo parts were plentiful.
The particular interest in playing piccolo has led to her also being recently considered for positions in brass marching bands such as the British Army bands and also the US Marine band The President’s Own, where she was a finalist out of 700 applicants.
